Workable Solutions
Return to Work Project
Ballarat & Gippsland Trades & Labour Councils

What is
'Workable Solutions'
What Will We Do?
How Long Will it Take
Workable Solutions is a two year Return to work Project undertaken by The Ballarat Regional Trades & Labour Council and the Gippsland Trades & Labour Council.

The Accident Compensation Act 1985 sets out clear responsibilities for employers to adapt roles, process and equipment to assist injured workers to return to work.

Anecdotal evidence suggests, however, that in regional areas parties involved in the RTW process are often unaware, bewildered or disinterested. Many express frustration with the system and process, are unaware of or try to avoid legal obligations and have limited access to resources.

The aim of this initiative is:

* To clearly identify crucial factors that stymie achievable and sustainable RTW outcomes and develop ways to circumvent these

* To raise employee and employer awareness of rights and responsibilities and link them to the services they require.

* To identify factors that are contributing to successful programs

* We want to talk
* We want to know what you know
* We want your help
* We want your ideas
* We want to help you

The Project will take two years and we will be talking to stakeholders
throughout the process.
How can you get involved?
